Romans 9:15 - Conditional mercy of God?
Does Romans 9:15 have conditions?
Romans 9:15: "For He-says (to) Moses, “I-WILL-HAVE-MERCY-ON whomever I-HAVE-MERCY, and I-will-have-compassion-on whomever I-have-compassion”."
Conditions:
"God" (Romans 9:14) said to Moses: "I-WILL-HAVE-MERCY-ON whomever I-HAVE-MERCY" (Romans 9:15).
It is written in the next verse: "So then, (mercy is) not (of) the (one) wanting, nor (of) the (one) running, but (of) the (One) HAVING-MERCY — God" (Romans 9:16).
God WILL HAVE MERCY ON whomever He HAS MERCY, and it would not happen merely because a person would simply be "wanting" (Romans 9:16) or "running" (Romans 9:16) for it, but as it written: "HE-HAS-MERCY-ON whom He-wants" (Romans 9:18).
God HAS MERCY ON "whom He-wants" (Romans 9:18), and He wants for example to HAVE MERCY on someone meeting the following conditions: "Let the ungodly [person] forsake his ways, and a lawless man his counsels [or, plans]; and let him return to the LORD, and he WILL BE SHOWN MERCY" (Isaiah 55:7).
The Greek word "TO-HAVE-MERCY" (eleeĆ³ 1653 in Greek) comes from the Greek word "mercy" (eleos 1656 in Greek). God HAS "mercy" on "whom He-wants" (Romans 9:18), and He wants for example to HAVE "mercy" on the ones fearing Him, as it is written: "His mercy (eleos 1656 in Greek) to generations and generations (is on) the (ones) fearing Him" (Luke 1:50).
