Is obedience a condition of eternal salvation?
OBEYING Jesus is a condition of eternal SALVATION.
It is written in Hebrews about Jesus that "although being (a) Son, learned OBEDIENCE from (the things) which He-suffered. And having-been-perfected, He-became (the) cause (of) eternal SALVATION (to) all the (ones) OBEYING Him" (Hebrews 5:8-9).
Jesus became the cause of "eternal SALVATION (to) all the (ones) OBEYING Him" (Hebrews 5:9). The "OBEDIENCE" (Hebrews 5:8) that Jesus learnt is mentioned before mentioning "the (ones) OBEYING Him" (Hebrews 5:9), suggesting that the same kind of OBEDIENCE that Jesus learnt would be in view.
Paul and Timothy addressed "all the saints in Christ Jesus being in Philippi, together-with (the) overseers and deacons" (Philippians 1:1) and mentioned to them the OBEDIENCE of Jesus "having-become OBEDIENT to-the-point (of) death — and (a) death (of a) cross" (Philippians 2:8) and added: "So-then my beloved, just-as you always OBEYED — not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence — be-working-out your SALVATION with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12). Paul mentioned their SALVATION in the same context as them having "always OBEYED" (Philippians 2:12). The indication that they "always" (Philippians 2:12) OBEYED suggests that their OBEDIENCE would not have been referring to a one time event but to something that would have been on-going.
