Eternal life can be attached to past, present and future verbs

Eternal life can be described as attached to a verb in the PERFECT tense (in ancient Greek manuscripts), which can be used to describe a past reality, as for example it is written in 1 John: "WE-HAVE-PASSED out-of death INTO LIFE" (1 John 3:14). The Greek verb for "WE-HAVE-PASSED" (1 John 3:14) is in the perfect tense, describing something that happened in the past. The word for "LIFE" (1 John 3:14) is used one verse later to describe "ETERNAL LIFE" (1 John 3:15). 

Eternal life can be described as attached to a verb in the PRESENT tense (in ancient Greek manuscripts), which can be used to describe a present reality, as for example it is written in John: "The (one) believing in the Son HAS ETERNAL LIFE" (John 3:36). The Greek verb for "HAS" (John 3:36) is in the present tense. 

Jesus said: "I say (to) you — the (one) believing in Me HAS ETERNAL LIFE" (John 6:47). Both the verbs "say" (John 6:47) and "HAS" (John 6:47) are in the present tense. In the same way that Jesus was present there to "say" to them these words, He said that that one believing in Him "HAS" eternal life. 

It is written in 1 John that someone could "HAVE ETERNAL LIFE ABIDING in him" (1 John 3:15). The Greek verbs for "HAVE" (1 John 3:15) and "ABIDING " (1 John 3:15) are both in the present tense. 

Eternal life can be described as attached to a verb in the FUTURE tense (in ancient Greek manuscripts), which can be used to describe a future reality, as for example Jesus described in Matthew 25:31-46 Himself as "He-will-sit on (the) throne (of) His glory" (Matthew 25:31) to give back to people according to their works, and He ended it by saying that some "WILL-GO into eternal punishment, but the righteous (ones) INTO ETERNAL LIFE" (Matthew 25:46). The Greek word for "WILL-GO" (Matthew 25:46) is in the future tense. 

Paul wrote about a future "righteous-judgment (of) God, Who WILL-GIVE-BACK (to) each (one) according-to his works — (to) the (ones) seeking glory and honor and incorruptibility in-accordance-with endurance (in) good work, (He will render) ETERNAL LIFE" (Romans 2:5-7). The Greek word for "WILL-GIVE-BACK" (Romans 2:6) is in the future tense. 

Paul wrote: "the (one) sowing to (the) Spirit WILL-REAP ETERNAL LIFE out-of the Spirit. And let-us not grow-weary (while) doing good. For (in His) own time we not giving-out WILL-REAP" (Galatians 6:8-9). The Greek verbs for "WILL-REAP" (Galatians 6:8 & Galatians 6:9) are both in the future tense. Paul included himself in that as he said that "WE not giving-out WILL-REAP" (Galatians 6:9).
